按“是中国人就顶”的情绪，我应该为张纯如及本片唱无数赞歌，然后再次狠狠仇恨下日本在南京犯下的罪行以及他们死不承认的态度。这与本片有何关系？一部电影一篇文章，我不过表明我对某部电影的态度，看客作为参考去欣赏电影。而对本片，我希望我的文章能够让更多的人去观看本片，了解张纯如被悲痛慢慢吞噬的经历。她为死难者代言，但自身无法幸免。
《Iris Chang The Rape Of Nanking[张纯如-<南京大屠杀>]》让我处于两难的境地，因为很早就了解张纯如自杀的可能原因，是因为她写《The Rape Of Nanking》太投入。本记录片在表达对南京大屠杀的一些态度的时候，也直奔向这个题旨—-张也是“南京大屠杀”的受害者之一。在关于南京大屠杀史实的态度上，并没有什么好说的，一直逃避接触此话题的我认为无论是历史还是现实，那一段记忆一直就放在那儿，任谁也无法抹去。本片表明的态度虽不说是陈芝麻烂谷子，但没有更多新意。而直奔题旨，没有更多有关张纯如这样一个普通女性—-与写就《The Rape Of Nanking》一书无关的张纯如，一个普通华裔美国女孩的形象，失望自是难免。
因为她的工作，所以对她抱着无限的好奇，想要了解一个女大学生摸样的身体里藏着怎样的力量，让她直面这些非人世的残忍和暴行。在没有更多可以贯通中西的大家，愿意为这样一段史实去俯首白发时，她怎么“蛮勇”地走出这一步。她是一个什么样的女儿、妻子和女性？本片没有给出更多的答案与细节。
类似于Discovery的纪录片拍摄方式，让人出演真实的人物，然后用镜头记录演员的表演。在没有事实对照期望的时候，这种方式提供了画面，让人印象深刻，但若有了真实形象，女演员和家庭录影机拍摄的张纯如两个形象让人混乱，特别是演员的确又有一点像真实人物的时候。在纪录片里，无法区别去理解真实的张纯如是否有着如此举动或想法，现在的影像是本纪录片的导演提供给观众，在他心中的张纯如是如何。存在于纪录片导演心中的张，达不到个人心中想要的张的摸样，实在自然。当张已经离去，她已不能亲口告诉我们她的心路旅程，那本纪录片至少也是为她而言的作品，“Give voice to the voiceless”。
而本片总结的张的努力与不幸，用片中两段歌词做出总结。无法再有更华丽的语言。
